Day 50: A Chair for My Father

Dad's new comfy cozy chair to help him get better. :)
Today is my last full day in Cleveland hanging out with my dad.  It was great to be able to spend time with him and help him maneuver around life during his recovery.  My daughter and my aunt kept us company, too, and we had some quality family time together.  Dad will have some struggles as the days and weeks go on.  These are the times that I really wish we lived closer.

Before heading back home, I wanted to leave Dad with some comfort and peace of mind.  I knew that there was one thing that Dad needed to be able to relax and to effectively follow the doctors' orders.  So, today's act of kindness was getting a new recliner for my dad.  He was able to venture out a bit, so he tried a few chairs on for size.  We picked one that I think will serve him well.  Now I know that even if I can't be there in person on a daily basis to give him a hug, the chair can fill in for me by keeping him cozy and secure.
